Are you having trouble with your kids? I would expect you are. That’s partly because they are starving for love and interaction. The same few people in your household just isn’t cutting it. If you need help, then I have a few resources.
Koren Academy is a website that is put together by my mother. The classes however, are mostly private, due to the fact that it includes videos of our faces and other security reasons. I can try to replicate some of the classes, but that’s pretty much it. So unless you personally know my mother, than this resource won’t be of very much use to you.
If you need more help, I’m working on putting together a educational part of my website just for this purpose.
If you are working and you need your child to be babysit, then you have a problem. No babysitters. So stick them in front of a screen. At least, that’s what most people do. The kids are happy until they remember that the real world exists. You may shelter your kids a lot. It may help in the short term. But over the long term, it will just be even harder when they meet the reality. The problem with sticking a kid in front of a screen, is that, if not mentally, physically they will not be as healthy. Is there a better alternative? I think, yes. Here are a few solutions to try out:
Nature is good for mental and physical health. Kids should get at least a half of an hour of outside time in per day. It makes humans happy to see mother nature and beauty around them. Dandelions are good for mental health, too. Their signature bright yellow flowers are pleasing to the human eye.
Exercise is also essential to the human body. It feels good to run a lap around your house. Or race a sibling down a hill to that big oak tree. It makes the body more healthy, and over time, stronger. I have to haul a half of a five-gallon pail full of water up twice daily to water our chickens. Every day it gets a little easier, and I’m able to carry more water each time. A healthier body often helps with a better mind. Ever notice that after sitting on a screen too long you feel sluggish and lazy? That’s not good for your body. That means you need to exercise more often.
Play is important for a child’s body. It is essential to be a healthy child. Playing helps children develop a better brain and mindset. Play is not a luxury. It is a necessity.
